Kenny Chesney New CD?

Kenny Chesney just announced his new CD is going to be released in September. Can someone please let him know that we still haven't gotten full use out of his last CD.

Kenny,

Im still not done listening to "The Road and The Radio" yet. Please push back your new CD a few months.

Yours Truly,

Kenny Mcgraw

P.S. Share the wealth, there are 2 of them and only 1 of you.

Gretchen Wilson

Does Gretchen Wilson still have everyone intrigued as she did a few years ago? I am trying to figure out what happened. A couple years ago she was the biggest thing and now she seems to have lost some momentum. I remember when I heard a DJ say that her along with Big & Rich were going to change country music. I haven't really seen that happened. While I think she is very talented and I like her sound, I don't feel that she can hold the big stage. I saw her open up for Kenny Chesney 2 years ago, and I really felt that she was not a good show on a large stage. I felt that if I saw her in a small venue, I would probably have loved it, but on the large stage I found it to be a little out of place.

Darryl Worley What Has Happened To You?

A few years ago when Darryl Worley's "Awful Beautiful Life" was going #1, I saw him live at a small venue outside Chicago called "The Sundance Saloon." He was awesome. At that time he had a #1 song, things appeared to be going great. Fast forward and what has happened to him. He got dropped from his record label (which he has since rebounded but the original label should have never dropped him), I believe he got a divorce from his wife, he has released a new cd that has not had much success (although it is pretty good), and earlier this month he posed nude for Playgirl. Come on Darryl, you do not need to go that low. Now many female country stars pose for magazines in some sexy poses. I remember a couple years ago a few female country singers posed for Maxim Magazine. While they weren't wearing much, it was sexy and tasteful, but they still got murdered in the media. Now Darryl does this, I assume out of desperation for attention, and I never hear anything about it. Keep in mind he gets nude from what I hear. Pathetic, what happened to you Darryl Worley?

Interesting news about Brooks & Dunn

Brooks and Dunn are being awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. How many country stars have a star on the walk of fame? I am sure Garth probably does, probably Reba, maybe Tim Mcgraw, but I'll bet that there are not too many others.

Good Country Music Journalists

Every week when I am surfing the internet I love to read about Nashville and country music happenings. There are a few journalists or bloggers that I enjoy more than others. On CMT.com I love to read Hazel Smiths column. I think it comes out every Monday. She is a terrific writer who has great relationships all over the country music scene. Every once in a while she writes about the good ol' days when she worked in a record labels office where she would see have contact with the original outlaws of country music. She would see Waylon, Willie, Johnny among others. I love that every week she seems to name drop someone she recently had contact with such as Kenny Chesney, or Brad Paisley. Also I take her opinions on up and coming artists very seriously. She is usually right with her predictions of who is going to become a big star.

Another write I love to read is Suzanne Alexander on GACTV.com. She has a blog that she writes usually a few times a week. She is definitely a good source to read in terms of todays big country stars. She also hosts the Top 20 on GAC so she obviously is on the top of there list of who to be friends with. Other than the fact that I am writing about her, she is one lucky woman.

Lastly I really enjoy reading Country Mikes Blog on countrystandardtime.com. He usually writes every couple days. He is a true country fan and it comes through in his writings. Recently he wrote daily from CMA Fan Fest. He painted a great picture of all that was going on. I am a huge country music fan and really appreciated the picture he painted of Nashville and the festival.

Country Music Stars Home-What A Nice Life

Recently I was looking at archives on a country fans website. I remembered seeing these same photos in a magazine. A couple years ago Kenny Chesney was selling his home in Brentwood, TN. This house is beautiful. If you have had the luxury of seeing some country stars homes you would agree with me that they seem to live very nice. Some of the ones that I have seen photos of are Alan Jackson, Ronnie Dunn, Tim Mcgraw. It must be really nice to live this way. Too bad these artists are always on the road that they hardly get to enjoy it. Take a look at the Kenny Chesney home. Enjoy!!!

PLEASE HELP SHE'S GROWING ON ME

Country Music Television?

So I was recently browsing the CMT schedule. Do they play music anymore? I recently read something saying that CMT is trying to create a Country Culture. Therefore they are now trying to show films and tv shows that help people connect to the Nashville culture. I don't know about you but I really prefer watching music videos or features about the musicians that I love. I don't care to watch Search for Coyote Ugly, or Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders (although I do love the cheerleaders). And while I have always loved Dukes of Hazzard, please let some other station play the reruns. Lately I have preferred GAC over CMT. They play lots of videos and if it is not a video they are showing our favorite artists in some form or another whether it be a cooking show, or an interview.

What DO Country Stars Listen To?

I was recently reading an interesting blog by Country Mike on www.countrystandardtime.com. He had gone onto iTunes and looked up the artists lists. This is where musicians put together a list of tunes that they like to listen to. He had been blown away by the amount of country songs that many country artists listed. His stats that he found were that of Kenny Chesneys 22 songs, only 3 were country; Brooks and Dunn only had 6 out of 21; Carrie Underwood had 5 of 15. In hopes that I would find something better I did my own search. Here is what I found: Jason Aldean had 6 out of 11 which is not bad compared to the others. Miranda Lambert had 9 out of 15. Sadly Sugarland only had 1 out of 12. Thank God for Kellie Pickler who had 10 out of 10. Lee Ann Womack had 7 out of 7. At least there were are a few country musicians that still listen to country music. But come on Sugarland do you really listen to Justin Timberlakes "Sexy Back"?

Reba and Kelly Clarkson?

Now I know that Reba put out a duets CD but come on does she need to continue to bring Kelly Clarkson on stage. First it was at an awards show and now its at the CMA Fan Fest. Kelly is struggling with her record label, now of course the country community is going to welcome her to our genre. I really hope nothing comes of it. I can't handle pop starts in country music. Yeah and that goes for you too Bon Jovi!!!
